Dinner Plain

Whatever the season, a stay at Dinner Plain is a unique and memorable experience.  The distinctive architecture of Dinner Plain reflects the cattlemen’s history of the area and blends in with the surrounding snow gums and high plains landscape.  Accommodation is available for singles; couples and families with a well stocked supermarket, cafés and restaurants open year round.

The winter season provides a range of activities and events including downhill and cross country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoe shuffles and snow play.

The Dinner Plain ski run is a gentle beginner slope with a poma lift in a safe and protected area.  When you’re ready for more of a challenge there’s a regular shuttle bus connecting Dinner Plain to the ski resort of Mt Hotham several times a day during ski season.  Hire services and ski school are located in the village.

Strap on some cross country ski’s and have a great day out exploring the extensive trail network that meanders around the village, or try out the trail between Dinner Plain and Mt Hotham. These well-marked trails wind through a woodland of snow gums and are a unique way to experience the High Country during the winter season.

There are even sled dog rides available (subject to snow conditions) and guided snowshoe tours topped off with a hot drink and snack while you are out exploring the surrounds.

After a day on the slopes, soothe tired muscles with a pilates session or a visit to the Onsen Retreat and Spa.  Inspired by Japanese bathing traditions, the Onsen Retreat and Spa will enrich, delight and restore your wellbeing whether it’s the healing solitude of one-on-one therapies or a soak with friends.
