Lake Mountain Alpine Resort is less than a two hour drive from most parts of Melbourne. Don’t forget your camera to capture memories of your children playing in the snow, building a snowman or tobogganing down one of the six toboggan slopes. After the easy but spectacular drive up from Marysville you get to step into a winter wonderland. If you pick a day after fresh snow you will find white against the blackened trees from the fires with stunning bright green regrowth creates an amazing landscape.

Lake Mountain’s world renowned ski school will get you into action in no time. There are a variety of toboggan slopes and huge snow play areas.  There is something for everyone.

The visitor centre ( which was untouched by the fire) has a licensed Bistro and takeaway, retail shop, day shelter, the ski school and a full range of snow clothing, toboggans, and skis for hire. After a day exploring the trails or chasing the kids up and down the toboggan slopes you will probably enjoy some hot food and a cup of coffee.

As Australia premier cross country skiing and snow play resort Lake Mountain does provide a very affordable and fun day out. It is a winter playground. You can slide down a toboggan slope, explore the trails on a set of skis or snow shoes or simply play in the snow.
